Hi, I’m Laura, and I write Christian fantasy romance about married couples finding healing in Christ and restoration in their relationships. Falling in love is easy, but staying together takes repentance, grace, and a whole lot of hard work! That’s why these faith-filled fantasy stories are woven with marriage, magic, and second chances — swoony, spice-free tales of love where the romance doesn’t end with “I do.” Set in rich, imaginative worlds, each story reflects the hope we have in Jesus to mend what’s broken and redeem what feels lost. When you subscribe, you’ll receive an ebook copy of The Smith & The Spoons: A Fralsningdor Chronicles Short Story, weekly episodes from my ongoing fantasy romance serial A Hoard of Tales, and tons of fun extras like behind-the-scenes updates, devotionals, memes, and book recommendations. If you’re longing for stories that blend solid theology, real-world marriage struggles, and fantastical settings, you’re in the right place. Welcome! (Please check your spam folder. You can unsubscribe any time.)

Hello dear friend!

I'm a day late for this week's newsletter (but hopefully not a dollar short) because I have a SUPER exciting announcement to share with you!

In this week's issue of the Goblin Grace Gazette:

  • Work in Progress Updates
  • My HUGE Announcement!!!

WIP UPDATES:

  • Lost King of the Pattern pre-order copies are on their way!! Huge thanks to everyone who's ordered so far. Friendly reminder that ebook pre-orders DO qualify for goodies; you just need to sign up for them here.
  • Project Needle is patiently waiting on the back burner for her turn to be in the publishing hype spotlight.
  • The Fralsningdor Chronicles, Book III plotting is coming along. I often write on the fly (which is called "pantsing" in The Biz™ because you write on the seat of your pants), but wrapping up all the threads of this story is definitely going to require some plotting action.

In the fae sanctuary city of Valehaven live Detective Charles Kevrinhart, illusionist for the VPD, and his wife, Amelia, local librarian and dragon shifter who keeps a hoard of tales. Amelia believes the only things she can never truly lose are the stories in her mind and the man in her arms... until the day she does. When Amelia is kidnapped by a notorious fae mobster, she's stripped of her stories and her memories. Every last one. But Charles will stop at nothing to save the woman he loves, put the monster who took her behind bars, and remind Amelia who she is. One story at a time.
Brooklyn 99 meets The Vow in this cozy, action-packed, already married urban fantasy serial.

SURPRISE!!! Yes, this is a brand new story set in a brand new world, and you can begin reading it FOR FREE starting next week!

WHAT AHOT IS:
✅️ a serialized urban fantasy about an illusionist cop and his dragon shifter wife
✅️ 100% free to read — this is my gift to you, dear friend
✅️ a Christian-coded tale about identity, marriage, adventure, and sacrificing for those we love

WHAT IT IS NOT:
❌️ a completed story — short episodes will come out once a week as I write them (delayed gratification is so back, my dudes)
❌️ a physical book — you can only read it online
❌️ high fantasy — there's tons of worldbuilding (as always) but this has an urban setting, which is totally new for me

WHERE TO READ IT:
I currently plan on sharing AHOT in three places —
1️⃣ right here in my email newsletter
2️⃣ my website (the entire story will be there so you never have to miss an episode)
3️⃣ on Instagram

Q&A:
❓️ Will this project take time away from writing TFC?
🅰️ Maybe a little, but my intention with AHOT is to offer something valuable to my readers consistently and bridge the gap between large publications. I still intend to have TFC Book III come out in 2027 as planned!
❓️ What, uh... why? Why are you doing this?
🅰️ Idk, bc it's fun? No, really though — I'm sharing this story in this way for a couple of reasons. I wanted to try something fun and different that brings my readers along for the ride, but I also intend to use AHOT as marketing. I don't want to be a clanging symbol who just constantly says "buy my books, buy my books," but I'm also not built for the influencer life. I would rather offer a story for content and let my work speak for itself.
❓️ Will AHOT ever be published as an actual book?
🅰️ Great question, and the answer is... maybe? For now, let's try this first and see if you even like the story. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

I am SO excited to share Charles' and Amelia's story as well as the city of Valehaven with you, dear friend! 🫶🏻
