Hello dear friend!

School years are creeping to a close, and almost everyone I know seems mildly frazzled at the moment. I hope you're resting in Christ during this fast-paced season, and that you're finding some time to read a few chapters of a good book, breathe in the fresh spring air, and enjoy a nice mug of your favorite warm drink when you get a chance.

In this week's newsletter:

  • Work in Progress Updates
  • Handmade Bookish Goods Preorders
  • TFC Meme of the Week
  • Out of Context Quote
  • The Betrayal of Eden Release

WIP UPDATES:

  • Lost King of the Pattern is being read by ARC readers and reviews are beginning to roll in on Goodreads! It has been so fun to see reactions to various elements of the story as people venture deeper into the world of Korreth. A second round of ARCs will go out at the end of May, so if you want to support this book's launch by reading/reviewing the book early, you can still sign up here.
  • Project Needle is with betas this month! I have some awesome team members from various backgrounds who are reading over the manuscript to help me fine tune the story before I do final edits in June.

I am SO excited to announce preorders for the cutest & coziest bookish accessories, all handmade by my dear friend, Courtney Bellingar!

Preorders for the spring launch open today, including:
🌸 book sleeves
🌸 kindle cozies
🌸 3d flower bookmarks

This entire collection reminds me of slow days in the Shire, rainy spring mornings, and large bowls of fruity ice cream. These colors are LIMITED EDITION, so if you love any of them, don't wait to order!

Courtney is so good at what she does, and her love for books and our little indie community of authors and readers shines through with every stitch. I already know you guys love indie books, and I'm sure you'll love indie book accessories just as much!

Most days this year he had stumbled through life in a daze of fear and inadequacy, but occasionally, when he stopped long enough to notice what was right in front of him, Fi’eren’s throat would brim with an agonizing bittersweet ache. She was right here, but she felt so far away. Unable to tell his wife his secrets, it had been much easier to simply push her aside in favor of a stiff cordial distance. At moments like this one, positively glowing in the early morning light as she was, Fi’eren hated himself for that. There was nothing to be done for it, though. The walls he’d built were as strong as anything he made in his forge, and they were simply too high to scale.

CHOSEN OF THE TAPESTRY

Happy release day to my friend, Erin Phillips, who is the queen of Christian indie publishing! This book only came out THIS MORNING, and it's already the #1 New Release in Teen & Young Adult Christian Fantasy! Fans are raving, and I am so excited to dive into this story and experience the well-deserved hype first hand.

Before she can rise above them all, she must first fall.

I’m on the precipice of a cliff.
One light breeze away from falling off.

At 16, Eden Fortin sees nothing but a bright future ahead of her. With a valuable promotion on the horizon, she is granted a coveted spot as a debutante alongside her wealthy friend, Fallon Riviere, an important step in escaping the sordid South Bout and securing a future with her beau, Myles Taillefer, the son of a powerful congresswoman.

But the happily ever after of Eden’s fairytale rise will be more dangerous than she realizes.

Hunter Calder, an indentured servant in the Riviere household, is far too familiar with the family’s schemes. Forced to pay off his father’s debt, he discovers a dark secret about the mysterious grimoires Cartier City uses to maintain order. However, revealing the truth might not provide the freedom he seeks.

As Eden becomes overwhelmed with the requirements of high society, her rivals uncover the means to her undoing. Just as grimoire magic works in ripples, so the ruin of Eden Fortin will be the catalyst for bringing Cartier City to its knees.

Filled with suspenseful mystery, shattered dreams, and dire consequences, the first book in this sweeping reimagining of Alexandre Dumas’ masterpiece, The Count of Monte Cristo, invites you into the resplendent world of Cartier City and will make you question everything you know about happy endings.

If you have any questions, comments, prayer requests, bad puns, or good book recs, I would love to hear them! Reply to this email and I'll get back to you ASAP.
