Hello dear friend!

It's almost (officially) spring, although there's still snow on the ground here in Wyoming. I hope that things are starting to be warm and lovely where you are and that you've stayed safe during the dangerous storms that have torn through North America this week.

"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace."

In this week's newsletter:

  • Work in Progress Updates
  • What's Next for Lost King
  • TFC Meme of the Week
  • Out of Context Quote
  • Seasons of Romantasy: Spring

WIP UPDATES:

  • Project Needle is at 71% and I'm starting to mildly panic about fitting the rest of this story into the allotted word count. Praying that Jesus will help me wrap it up well and that I can edit it down to size when the time comes!
  • Lost King of the Pattern is finished with the beta reading phase. Keep reading to find out what that means! ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Because you are one of my VIP Newsletter Goblinsβ„’, I want to take you along with me on every step of my publishing process β€”

Writing and publishing involves a lot of scramble & work as well as a lot of hurry up & wait. For the past two months, The Fralsningdor Chronicles Book II manuscript has been in the capable hands of my carefully selected beta readers, which means that on my end, it's been resting on the back burner.

Not for them, though! Since January, my team of betas has been hard at work reading, taking notes, and communicating feedback with me so that the story can be refined and buffed to a shine before launch day. Their work is absolutely invaluable, as their fresh eyes and perspectives catch things that I would certainly miss!

Now that I have everyone's feedback (as well as my own list of things that I want to add or tweak), it's time to dive back in and do my next round of edits. This is the part of the process where I typically get a sore throat, because I read the book out loud to myself again and again as I edit to make sure that every line both sounds and feels the way that it should. My rule of thumb is a bit silly, but it works for me β€” the sentence has to be worth my breath, and if it's not it has to go. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately??) LKOTP is currently clocking in at about 103,000 words, which is quite a bit longer than COTT. Let's hope my voice holds up!

If you have a favorite brand of throat soothing tea, reply to this email and let me know. I'm definitely going to need it!

Fran was well aware of the Loom’s speculations. Her whole life she’d been

the unwilling subject of whispered conversations about β€œthe Chosen of the

Tapestry.” Looms from all over Fralsningdor, in fact, had traveled to their

abbey to poke and prod and question the half breed.

CHOSEN OF THE TAPESTRY

Today I am thrilled to announce my friend's charity anthology which comes out on Thursday, March 20th!

Seasons of Romantasy: Spring, is book one of four seasonal themed romantasy short story anthologies.

The stories in the first volume are ten clean romances set in the springtime. My friend, Melody Faith, wrote Return to Me, which is a sweet short story about patience and faith in the waiting.

All proceeds from the entire Seasons of Romantasy four book collection (releasing throughout 2025) will be going to the Ronald McDonald house! RMDH is a fantastic organization that helped some dear friends of mine when their baby was born prematurely. I'm so excited for these stories and equally excited to see that the generous authors have used their God given talents to bless others.

Seasons of Romantasy: Spring is available now on Amazon for ebook preorder. It will also be available in paperback and on Kindle Unlimited on Thursday!

If you have any questions, comments, prayer requests, bad puns, or good book recs, I would love to hear them! Reply to this email and I'll get back to you ASAP.

But when he runs into a beautiful half-human girl and scatters his precious silverware across the kitchen floor, have his dreams shattered before they began?
