Hi, I’m Laura, and I write Christian fantasy romance about married couples finding healing in Christ and restoration in their relationships. Falling in love is easy, but staying together takes repentance, grace, and a whole lot of hard work! That’s why these faith-filled fantasy stories are woven with marriage, magic, and second chances — swoony, spice-free tales of love where the romance doesn’t end with “I do.” Set in rich, imaginative worlds, each story reflects the hope we have in Jesus to mend what’s broken and redeem what feels lost. When you subscribe, you’ll receive an ebook copy of The Smith & The Spoons: A Fralsningdor Chronicles Short Story, weekly episodes from my ongoing fantasy romance serial A Hoard of Tales, and tons of fun extras like behind-the-scenes updates, devotionals, memes, and book recommendations. If you’re longing for stories that blend solid theology, real-world marriage struggles, and fantastical settings, you’re in the right place. Welcome! (Please check your spam folder. Hello dear friend!

I feel like summer is going by so quickly! It only just started and somehow we're into the third week of June ALREADY?! That's bonkers. I hope your summer adventures and reads have been lovely so far and that they continue to be both restful and edifying for you.

In this week's issue of the Goblin Grace Gazette:

  • Work in Progress Updates
  • LKOTP Tropes, Vibes, and Blurb
  • TFC Meme of the Week
  • Out of Context COTT Quote

WIP UPDATES:

  • Lost King of the Pattern release day is only 53 days away!!! I'm still waiting on my hardcovers to come. As soon as they do, preorders will open for my VIP Newsletter Goblins, followed by preorders for the general public a few days later.
  • Project Needle is FINISHED!!! The story is done and uploaded to my printer. I got my proof copy today, and I'm thrilled to bits with how the internal formatting looks (it's very whimsical, perfect for an adult faerietale bedtime story). The cover needs slight adjustments on spacing, but I'm very happy with it overall.
  • I haven't made any progress on The Fralsningdor Chronicles, Book III this week, but I am doing a lot of brainstorming!

Are you a mood reader or a TBR reader?

I'm more of a TBR reader! Books get on my TBR through various means, though. Here are a few:

  • TROPES (little "themes" that I love to see in stories, so I'll automatically be interested if they're listed — some of my favorites are already-married romance, biblical allegory, enemies to lovers, and banter)
  • VIBES (these are typically a collection of pictures or video clips that have the same "feel" as the book in question)
  • BLURBS (the little summary that you find on the back of the book or its Amazon listing — it usually hooks you by teasing the inciting incident and some of the challenges the characters will face)
  • RECS FROM FRIENDS (if my bookish besties text me with a book rec, you better believe I'll drop my TBR like it's hot and devour that book right away)
  • AUTO-BUY AUTHORS (there are several authors whose work I've loved so much, I'll read anything they publish — I don't even need to know what it's about — all I need to see is their name)

Today I have the Lost King of the Pattern tropes, vibes, and blurb for you. I hope they can help you see if this story is a good fit for you or someone you know! Which of these peaks your interest?

Fi’eren’s words hung in the air like the reverberating aftermath of the abbey’s bells that called the Looms to worship. The magic in Fran’s bones purred, harmonizing with the timbre of her husband’s declaration. His magic in her bracer leapt with joy, as if trying to dance with her own. The Weft patted Fran’s hand and squeezed Fi’eren’s shoulder with an approving nod. Then he excused himself with a rather self-congratulatory smile.“Very good, you two,” he said softly. “We begin tomorrow.”
